Rod was passionate about many things in his life. First and foremost was his family. He loved spending time with his parents, brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. But his love truly got to shine when he met the love of his life Jennifer Horvath, and when his daughter Jean joined the family in July 2020 (to which Rod always credited her conception to corn-fed beef). Rod was very proud of his family. He provided for them while working for Union Pacific as maintenance away.
Rod had loved the band KISS since he was a kid. So much so that he and Jennifer were married at the KISS wedding chapel on September 24, 2019.
He loved his country, after graduating high school he joined the US Navy and was a proud crew member of the USS Conolly (DD979). He loved his shipmates and his time spent in the Navy.
He went to school at MMI in Phoenix, AZ where he learned to work on motorcycles. Rod would spend as much time as he could riding his Harley Davidson.
Rod loved his football teams, the Iowas Hawkeyes, and the Pittsburg Steelers. They were the best and no one better tell him otherwise.
