Albert Lewis, 87 years of age passed away on June 9, 2020 in the City of Boulder City, Nevada.
Albert was born in Summerton, South Carolna to Henry and Frances Lewis on October 16, 1932. Albert's Family moved to Miami, Florida in 1935 where he grew up attended and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1951. He joined the United States Air Force. After his training in San Antonio, Texas, he transferred to McConnell Air Force Base in Kansas where he met Beverly Ann Perry and they were married on March 27, 1954.
They were blessed with three children, Albert Lewis, Jr., Michael Lewis (Deceased) and
Cheryle Lewis.
Albert served in the United States Air Force for 20 years and was honorably discharged in 1971. During his career in the Air Force and after retirement he worked at major hotels as a Master Chef and later supervisor in dining services at the Optimist Boys Home where he met Tony Johnson and unofficially made Tony a part of his family. Albert also worked at the LA Sports Arena where he served as an usher and basketball was his passion, and he loved his Lakers. Albert was a member of the Knights of Columbus, he was a Master Mason of Forest of Lebanon and Just Men’s Civic Group in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
Albert is preceded in death by his father Henry Lewis; his mother Frances Lewis; his brother Willie Henry Lewis and sister-in-law Louise Lewis, his sisters Ruby Mae Lewis and Betty Jean Lewis.
Albert is survived by his spouse Beverly Ann Lewis; Son, Albert Lewis, Jr. (Jannese); Daughter, Cheryle Lewis (Sherrie); Sisters Ondrea Mack and Maxine Mitchell (Richard); Five Grandchildren: Ladon and Donice Moore (their mother Michele Moore); Jowanna Lewis; Abudahbi Lewis (Elizabeth); Oscar Lewis (Anita), (their mother Rachel Lewis); Four Great Grandchildren, Abriance Moore, Ashante Moore, Jacobee Marshall, Grace Metu, one Great Great grandchild Noah Edkar, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., on Saturday July 11, 2020 at St. Philip The Apostle Church, 151 S. Hill Avenue, Pasadena, CA 91106.
The Family of Albert Lewis wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Nevada State Veterans Home, Father Ronald Zanoni and St. Philip The Apostle Church and all the family and friends who expressed their love and comforting words.
