Alfonso Rodriguez Sanchez, 76, a native Nevadan, passed away May 19, 2013, at home, surrounded by all his family. He was born July 23, 1936, to the late Herlindo and Porfiria Sanchez, in Sloan. Alfonso graduated from Las Vegas High School in 1954. He married Socorro Sanchez in Las Vegas, where they resided until his passing. Alfonso served in the U.S. Army in 1959 and full filled his duties. After completing his military duties, he was a production manager for Mission Linen before retiring. Alfonso was an active member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and a past member of the Knights of Columbus. Throughout his days, he enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, laughter, fishing, sports and good food. Alfonso is survived by his three children and two sonsinlaws, Teresa Kurcz 48, Anna Holland 47, Martha Sanchez, 43, Anthony Kurcz and Steve Mlynarczyk of Las Vegas. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Aaron Kurcz 22, Alexandria Holland 21, Allie Kurcz20, and Joshua and Jacob Holland 16. Viewing will be 57 p.m. Thursday, May 23, with Rosary following, both at Davis Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89119. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 24, at St. Annes Catholic Church, 1901 S. Maryland Parkway, Las Vegas, NV 89104. Burial will be at 9:20 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005.
