HENDERSON, NV – Alice Carpenter, 63 years of age, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023 in Henderson, NV.

Alice Carpenter was born January 2nd 1960, in San Antonio, Texas to Alvis and Estelle “Ruby” Hughes. Alice graduated from Highlands High School in 1978. She married Leslie ‘Eddie’ Edward Carpenter, Jr. on July 30, 1977. They raised their only son, David, in Grand Prairie, TX. Together they traveled all over the world and a few of her favorites were Alaska, Australia & New Zealand. Alice worked at Lochhead Martin for 29 years and then retired. They moved to Nevada in 2015. She enjoyed the Las Vegas casinos and shows. She enjoyed participating in auctions, loved a good deal and was an avid collector.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvis and Ruby Hughes, and her sisters Carol Hughes and Pamela Hughes.

She is survived by her loving husband, Eddie Carpenter; her son, David Carpenter of Waxahachie, TX; her daughter-in-law, Christina Carpenter of Midlothian, TX; her sisters Sally Sutherland of Midland, TX and Kathleen Tisdale (Larry) of San Antonio, TX; her grandchildren, Kayden, Makayla & Adam Carpenter of Waxahachie, TX; and her niece, nephews and many cousins.

Friends may gather with family for a brief viewing on Wednesday, November 1st from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at Davis Funeral Home & Memorial Park.

The family request those who wish to express sympathy to please consider donating to either of Alices’ favorite charities in her remembrance; St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, stjude.org; or The Humane Society of the United States, humanesociety.org.

Once her ashes return home to Texas, a Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held in the Dallas/Fort Worth area at a later date.
