""You can't regret what you don't remember."" That phrase and living life to
the fullest were the cornerstones of Alma's philosophy on life, love and
marriage. She lived her life with purpose, she lived her life with joy and she
lived her life with tequila. She always said dance like no one else is watching
or dance like they are, who cares, but just dance! Music was her passion and
her joy second only to her two sons and her family.
Born on November 11, 1970 she came into this world announcing to all that
she was here and the world took note. She was laughter, she was sunshine
and she was hell on wheels, nothing or no one could hold her back. She
leaves behind a mother, Maria, who has always said that she has had to
wear roller skates just to keep up with Alma, two sons Peter and Armando,
who know how to be men and how to treat a lady, thanks to her teachings.
She leaves behind a sister, Cynthia, to whom she was both a best friend and
at times an enemy as sisters are. She leaves behind two nieces, Bethanie
and Danielle, and a nephew Abrahm, who were her heart and her joy. She
goes to join her daughter, Venessa, in heaven.
Alma did nothing halfway, everything she did was to the fullest, it was either
go big or go bigger. She loved to cook and no one ever left her house
without feeling full, not just of food but also of love.
Alma loved, boy did she love. She loved her family, her friends, her amiguis
and a husband or two along the way. But she always loved with all that she
was, with every fiber of her being and if you were blessed to feel that love,
well, there was nothing greater.
She left this world peacefully in her sleep, in her Las Vegas home,
surrounded by all the things she loved on April 25, 2019 and as usual she
took everyone by surprise, no one expected her to leave just yet. It was too
soon for all of us, but her heart had had enough and it was time to rest.
So when you listen to music, and you feel that pull, that beat and rhythm
that makes you just want to move, that's her, that's Alma telling you to Just
Dance. â¦..and honestly probably also yelling SHOT! SHOT! SHOT!!!
