Anthony “Tony” Frederick was born July 13, 1970. Tony moved to Las Vegas as a teenager where he was known by his closest friends simply as “amp dog.” Tony loved to get out, have a good time, and travel. While he had a west coast swagger, he was always a Bajan at heart.
Tony worked as a pastry chef at several high end restaurants on the Las Vegas Strip, and for a time, ran his own restaurant. When he wasn’t in the kitchen, you could catch him chilling at his favorite cigar lounge, shooting the breeze at the barber shop, or throwing a big party at his house.
In early 2022, Tony was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. In true Tony fashion, he hosted a big party the following Christmas, inviting family and friends from all over the world to celebrate life with him one last time. He died peacefully on Tuesday April 4, 2023 at Mountain View Hospital in the presence of his closest family and friends.
Tony is predeceased by his mother Mary Davis. He is survived by his wife Cheryl King-Frederick; his father Hazel Frederick; siblings Janice Deterville, Michael Deterville, Eunice Deterville, Amber Frederick, and Tanya Frederick; and his three beloved dogs Prince, Harry, and Duke. Outside of his immediate family, Tony is survived by an abundance of extended family and close friends in Barbados and beyond. His pastries, his parties, and his presence will be missed by all.
