Anthony Joseph Tony G Gennarelli, of Las Vegas, passed away peacefully Friday, April 5, 2013. Tony was born May 27, 1958, to Morris and Peggy Gennarelli in Capiague, Long Island, N.Y. In 1961, the family moved to Las Vegas. At the age of 17, he traveled with a band in the northwest doing their sound and lighting. Moving to California in the 1980s, he became a member of I.A.T.S.E. Local 80 Motion Picture and Television Grips in Hollywood. He worked on such films as Ferris Buellers Day off, Beaches and various television shows such as, St. Elsewhere, Dallas, Cheers, and many more, including three seasons on Matlock. In 1991, he graduated from the Sony Institute of Applied Video Technology in Hollywood, Calif. Returning to Las Vegas, he became a member of I.A.T.S.E. Local 720 and Teamsters 631. He worked at many of the hotels and convention centers on various events, in addition to television and film productions that came to town. His career also included working on a number of music videos. Since 2008, Tony was a much loved business agent film and television for Local 720. He was hoping to see the passage of the Nevada Tax Film Incentive, which last session he went to Carson City to help lobby for. He was also a delegate to the AFLCIO Central Labor Council. March 28, 1998, he married Martha Lynn Johnson. Although they had no children, they had many of the fourlegged kind. Tony loved life, was an avid golfer, enjoyed skiing, riding his motorcycle, camping, listening to music and laying in the pool. He is survived by his wife, Martha brother, Morris Chic Gennarelli of Palm Springs, Calif. cousins, Linda Sall, Beth Sall Hunter Uel, Cash Colligan, Deena Sall Sarabria John, Johnny, Jake, Gia Sarabria motherinlaw, Betty Johnson brotherinlaw, Wendell Johnson sisterinlaw, Mary CoxsonJones Ken niece, Carissa nephews, Chandler and Camden Coxson greatnephew, Grayson Coxson, all of Las Vegas and many friends near and far in his personal and professional life he considered family. He was preceded in death by his parents maternal grandmother and paternal grandparents. Per Tonys wishes, no services are scheduled. A Celebration of life is pending. Burial will be in Nevada, Iowa. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society , Las Vegas Valley Humane Society or the Nevada SPCA in Tonys honor.
