Barry J. McDonough Obituary
Barry James McDonough passed away peacefully of natural causes on June 8, 2024. Born in Dorchester, MA on July 22 1965 and raised in Canton, MA. Barry was a graduate of Northeastern University in Boston where he studied communications and focused on video production. Following college, Barry got a job as a runner at a movie studio and eventually owned his own business in Hollywood creating movie trailers for famous producers. He was a celebrated editor for decades, for which he received Key Art Awards and Golden Trailer Awards. Barry loved music, dancing, and celebrating life. He was a talented athlete, avid fan of Boston sports teams, and a sports betting enthusiast. Barry loved music and dancing, and was charismatic, witty, and fun. He was also compassionate and generous and would take the shirt off his back for anyone in need.
Barry was a dedicated father, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his former wife Jennifer and his sons Jack and Riley of Los Angeles, CA. He is preceded in death by his parents John G. and Mary B. (McKeon) McDonough of Canton as well as his twin brother Kevin M.; and survived by his brother Sean A. and his wife Susannah F. of Naples, FL; his brother Brian P. of Norwood, MA; and his nieces and nephews, Kerry, Tara, Aedan, Lindsay, and Matt, as well as Ryan, Aaron, Corina, Mia and Stella. Barry was deeply loved and admired and will be dearly missed by his family and many friends on the east and west coasts.
