Betty Athalene Burkhalter

Betty Burkhalter, 85, of Las Vegas, passed away January 19, 2011. She was born July 2, 1925, in Wells, Texas, and was a resident of Las Vegas for over 20 years.

Betty was a secretary, a seamstress and a homemaker. She was an active member of the Southern Baptist Church and had a strong Christian faith. Her husband, of 65 years, John, was a career Marine and she, her husband and three children traveled extensively with the military.

Betty is survived by her husband, John her daughter, Linda her son, Michael seven grandchildren 12 greatgrandchildren one brother three sisters a sisterinlaw and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her daughter, Carolyn her mom and dad her motherinlaw and fatherinlaw her granddaughter, Dana two nephews and other family members and dear friends.

Betty Burkhalter was a great wife, mom and grandmother. She was very energetic and full of life, always serving and cooking for and spoiling her family. We will all miss her so much and cherish all of our wonderful memories of her.

She was oh so precious.
