Betty Jane Conrad

August 17, 1940 — March 27, 2020

Betty Jane Stephens Conrad of Las Vegas, NV passed away on March 27, 2020. Betty was born in Woodville, Mississippi to Katherine Moody Stephens and  Henry Grady Stephens on August 17, 1940.

Betty (BJ) Conrad was born and raised a perfect combination of true Southern grit and grace. She took no grief but always knew how to be a lady. She graduated from Bay High in Panama City, Florida in 1959 and married the love of her life, Richard Conrad, on January 2, 1959, at St. Andrews Baptist Church. As a military wife, BJ worked tirelessly to raise and care for her four children while supporting her husband, often from afar.  Betty and Richard eventually settled in Las Vegas, where they enjoyed sharing so many stories, values, and traditions with their grandchildren. BJ survived Richard by two decades, during which time she enjoyed the birth of many great-grandchildren and proudly earned the name GG. She was also known for her love of her four-legged babies. A truly amazing and strong woman, BJ will be deeply missed.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, sister Anne, brother Lee, and beloved husband Master Sergeant Richard Gale Conrad.

Betty is survived by her Son Edwin and his wife Tonya, her daughter Shannon and her husband John, her son Donald, and her son Scott and his wife Anayanci. Betty had 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2020, at Davis Funeral Home and Memorial Park.

Betty will be laid to rest at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Tuesday, April 7, 2020.

The family intends to hold a celebration of Betty’s life on or near her birthday in August.

The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to Prestige Senior Living and their Memory Care staff.
