Betty Carol Gibson, age 70, of Henderson, Nevada was called home to our Lord on September 24th.
Betty was born on February 4, 1951 to the union of Joe Willie and Queen Gibson in Kansas City, Kansas. She was raised in New Hope Baptist Church in West Point, MS, a member of Northern Missionary Baptist Check in St. Louis, MO and later became a member of Green Valley Christian Center (GVCC) in Henderson, NV. She had given her life to the lord at a younger age she and once again took the opportunity for a second baptism in the Jordan River.
She retired from the Union Pacific Railroad after over 40 years of service to the rail system. Betty with much love and dedication to her siblings was a god-fearing woman and spent many years studying the bible with her Bible Study Fellowship and Circle of Gold teams. She was a straight shooter with truthful words spoken out of kindness from her heart to build you up.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and four brothers.
Betty leaves to cherish her loving memory three sisters, Mary Helen Wilson (Eddie) of West Point, MS; Sandra Harrison (BeaJaye) of Henderson, NV; and Frances Renee Moore of St. Louis, MO; an aunt, Joyce Gibson, an uncle, Fred Walker of West Point, MS and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A celebration of life service is scheduled from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 11th, with Pastor Vic Kundargi of GVCC, officiating at Davis Funeral Home, 6200 South Eastern Avenue, Henderson, NV.
