BILLY CHARLES LANKSTER, 86 entered this world on November 3, 1936, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma and was called home on February 15, 2023.
Billy worked for the Federal Defense Reutilization and Marketing department. He served proudly as a civilian servant for over thirty-three years before retiring in 2000 due to the elimination of his position. The job allowed Billy to travel the world and meet lifelong friends. After graduating high school Billy moved to Pueblo, Colorado where he raised five of his children with his ex-wife Erma Cannon. Billy later moved to Germany for several years before returning to the states and making Las Vegas his home.
Billy was reunited in death with his parents Dock Wallace Lankster and Velma Faye Nave-Lankster, siblings Joan Lankster, Blanche Battle, Joel Paul Lankster, and niece Pamela Lankster. He is survived by his daughters Velma Joan Underwood, Billie Lankster-Davis, Veronica Gail Lankster; Lisa Lankster-Edmonds, and Cynthia Faye Lankster. Sons, Davis lee; Rodney Charles Lankster, and George Jacob Lankster.
Billy hated funerals and asked that he only be cremated. Honoring his wishes there will not be a formal ceremony. However, his life is one that deserves to be celebrated, he was a great man. Therefore, the family is planning a celebration of his life by having a family reunion later this year in his home state of Oklahoma. Billy's remains will also be interred in Oklahoma.
Billy was an amazing friend, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and uncle. Billy leaves behind to celebrate his life and preserve his attributes eight children, twelve grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He has a host of nieces and nephews and, sister-in-law, Jean Radford Lankster all of whom he cherished.
The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all those who have reached out to us, loved or cared for our father. His laughter, smile, intelligence and sense of humor will be greatly missed.
