Blanca Cecilia Rodriguez

Blanca Cecilia Rodriguez Alvarado, “Tita”, 91, of Henderson, NV, passed away on September 24, 2019, in Henderson, NV.

Blanca was born in Carupa, Colombia, South America to Barbara and Antonio Alvarado on December 24, 1927.

Blanca attended high school and college in Ubate, Colombia where she received a degree in Teaching. She taught primary grades for many years which is where her love and devotion for children grew further.  It was during this time in Ubate that Blanca married and gave birth to three of her six children.  To create more opportunities for her family Blanca moved from the small city of Ubate to Bogota, Colombia where she continued to grow her family with three more children.

Blanca continued to work to provide more opportunities for them and moved the family to the United States in 1965 settling in New York City. During this time Blanca worked tirelessly, many times working multiple jobs to provide for her children.  She dedicated her life to her children, raising them and teaching them her amazing devotion and love for God.  This is seen in the love and commitment to family and work values that her children now have for their own families, Blanca’s legacy of love. Blanca helped raise grandchildren Diane, Tanya, and George, and later helped her daughter raise Cameron, Carson, and Caedon.  She dedicated her whole life to her family.  She is and always will be our family base and foundation.

Blanca is preceded in death by two sons, Gonzalo Javier Rodriguez and Jorge Enrique Rodriguez. Grandson Jason Rodriguez, and daughter-in-law Terry Rodriquez. Parents Barbara and Antonio Alvarado.  Four brothers, Celso Alvarado, Alfredo Alvarado, Chucho Alvarado, and Eli Alvarado.  Two sisters, Dora Rodriguez, and Emma Gordillo.

Blanca is survived by four sons Robert Eli Rodriguez, Nelson Rodriquez and wife Robin Myers, and Nestor Raul Rodriguez.  One daughter, Claudia Rodriguez Cox and husband Corey Cox.  Fifteen (15) grandchildren Kelley Rodriguez, Diane Conte, George Rodriguez, Tanya Rodriguez, Crystalyne Schwartz, Justin Zimmerman, Nelson Rodriquez Jr, Danny Rodriquez, Kimberly Rodriquez, Vinny Rodriguez, Tessa Rodriguez, Cameron Cox, Carson Cox, and Caedon Cox. Thirteen (13) great-grandchildren Mason Salazar, Kaiden Salazar, Gerard Conte, Miranda Conte, Lauren Gomez, Bailie Jongema, Raphael Schwartz, Moshe Schwartz, Liora Schwartz, Yitzchak Schwartz, Luna Zimmerman, Lilliana Zimmerman, Jayce Rodriquez, and Leroy Valentin.

Celebration of Life services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, October 19, 2019, at Davis Funeral Home with Father Dave officiating.  Burial will follow at Davis Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Davis Funeral Home.
