Blanche Darlene Davis

Blanche Darlene Davis of Las Vegas, NV passed away Saturday, May 25, 2024, at 12:17 am at Henderson Hospital. She was surrounded by her family. She lost her battle with esophageal cancer. 

Blanche was born November 22, 1942, in Sioux City, IA., daughter of August "Gus" David and Gladys Opal Wickey.  Blanche married Russell Floyd Scott II in 1960; blessed with three children; Linda Capers (Robert Capers), Russell Scott III, and Corey Scott.  Her husband Russell Floyd Scott II passed away November 26, 1987 (Thanksgiving morning) from strokes which left him paralyzed. Blanche was by his side at home taking care of him until he passed.  They had been married for twenty-five years. In 1988 Blanche married Richard Duane Davis who had two daughters Sheila Holbrook (Michael Holbrook) and Shari Beeson (Stacy Beeson) . Blanche & Richard Davis moved from Sioux City, IA to Las Vegas NV in 1990. Blanche worked at the Mirage Casino as a housekeeper for several years until the MGM Grand Casino opened up then transferred there. She repaired, fitted and dressed all the employees. After 20 years of employment with the MGM Grand and one of the original cast members Blanche retired in March of 2013.  A few short months later her husband of twenty-five years passed away August 12, 2013. 

Survivors include her sisters Dorothy, Helen, and Gustina. Deceased sisters include Rose Fisher and Lucille Erisman. Deceased brothers include Johnny Bishop and Patrick Hute II.  

11 grandchildren Jessica Bauer (Richard Bauer), Wendi Voigt, Katie Bowman (Brett Bowman), Jeremiah Capers (Wendi Capers), Tiffany Griego, Joe Beeson, David Beeson, Mitchell Davis (Cassandra Davis), Fiona Davis, Miranda Jarabek and Corey Jarabek (deceased May 2017).  19 Great Grandchildren  Alyssa Faulkner, William Nagle, Austin Faulkner, Mikayla Capers, Destiny Capers, Joseph Griego, Sylvia Whitehall, Jazmin Hayden (Zachery Hayden), Ryan Bowman, Richard Bauer III, Johnpaul Bauer, Sofia Bauer, Maddison Beeson, Hunter Beeson, Emilia Beeson, Ariana Beeson, Logan Davis, Kaylee Davis, and Lily Jarabek. 4 Great Great Grandchildren Adalynn, Emberlynn, Grayson and Halston.  

 Blanche loved her family very much. She would give you the shirt off her back. Every year for the holidays she would make crackers and peanut brittle that everyone looked forward to every year!! If you had either one of them from her then you know what we are talking about!!  She had an immense love for Mickey Mouse that will be carried on for generations to come.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
