Bruce Todd Larsen
October 5, 1962–August 7, 2024
Bruce Todd Larsen, 61, of Henderson, Nevada, passed away on August 7, 2024.
Bruce was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, to Sharon and Leo Larsen on October 5, 1962. He attended T.C. Abbott grade school and Pioneer High School. After working for the airlines for almost a decade, Bruce earned his Airplane and Powerplant license to become an aircraft mechanic. He worked for Florida Express and Braniff Airlines in Orlando, then moved to Las Vegas in 1994 where his 28-year-long career with Southwest Airlines began.
Bruce married Judy Smith on September 10, 1988 and together they raised two amazing children, Tim and Emily.
As an avid sports fan, Bruce could often be found cheering on his favorite teams in front of the TV or in the stadium. He was a loyal University of Michigan fan, as well as a fan of the Detroit Red Wings, Lions, Tigers (no Bears), Las Vegas Golden Knights, and Kansas City Chiefs (because of Judy, of course!)
Bruce was predeceased by his father, Leo Larsen; mother, Sharon Larsen Andrews and stepfather Jack Andrews; brother, Chris Larsen; sister-in-law Missy Larsen; and father-in-law Paul G. Smith.
Bruce is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Judy; son Tim, and daughter-in-law Cathryn; daughter Emily; older brother Tim and sister-in-law Lori; older brother Rob; younger brother Jay; uncle Lani (Cindy) Allen; mother-in-law June Smith; in-laws Terry (Rich) Carroll, Donna Adams-Crahan, Paul (Mary Ann) Smith, Dece Smith, David Smith, Mark (Jean) Smith, Cis (John) Thum, and Joannie (Richard) Ackland. Bruce was also blessed with many nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as neighbors, co-workers, and friends that were his chosen family (Merit Court, Southwest, and Las Vegas friends.)
Bruce and Gaston (his beloved granddog) are taking long walks together now in the great dog park above.
GO BLUE!
