Carissa Lynn Langston Diaz

August 12, 1981 — February 7, 2022

Carissa Lynn Langston Diaz, of Las Vegas, Nev., passed away unexpectedly on February 7, 2022, at the age of 40.

Carissa was born at Sunrise Hospital on Aug. 12, 1981, and lived her entire life in Las Vegas. She graduated from Durango High School in 1999. On April 24, 2010, she married Luis, the love of her life and the couple later welcomed their two daughters Adalynn and Thalia. 

Carissa was a loving mother, wife, daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, and friend, and loved to travel and do anything that meant spending time with family and friends. Spending time with her sisters and four nephews always brightened her day, and above all else, Carissa loved being a wife, and a mother to her two beautiful girls. Known affectionately as “Guera” to her husband, Carissa was an excellent chef and was known for her delicious traditional Mexican dishes. She also was a longtime employee of Advanstaff, where she worked as a payroll administrator.

Carissa is preceded in death by her grandfathers, Richard Fesler and Clair Langston; and her grandmothers Ada M. G. Langston Collins and Shiela Finch. 

Carissa is survived by her husband, Luis Diaz; her daughters, Adalynn and Thalia; her stepchildren, Victor and Leilani; her parents, Jim and Shawna Fesler; her sisters, Ashlee Krahenbuhl (Boe) and Brittney Fesler (Adam Culler); her in-laws Alejandro Diaz and Oralia Gonzalez; her grandmother, Patricia Fesler; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Carissa will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all those who knew her.

A celebration of life is scheduled for 1 p.m. on February 19 at the LDS Church building on South Bermuda Road in Henderson. Information about donating to help support the Diaz family will be communicated at the ceremony.
