Carol Ann Bunagan

Carol was born on October 23, 1937, in Boston to Richard Graham and Ethel (nee Derome), their second child after older sister Cinnia and before younger brothers Richard and Alan.  In her childhood, the family moved to Winthrop MA where she lived until 1990 when she relocated to Henderson, NV.  She graduated from Winthrop High School in 1956, beginning a long career with New England Telephone serving as an Executive Assistant, and bearing four children with her first husband, Alfred Miles.  Son Alan came in 1965, daughter Noreen in 1967 and sons Craig and Darren in 1968 and 1970 respectively.

Carol loved the sun and the beach, making the most of every day in the brief New England summer and spearheading “Girls Weeks” journeys to Caribbean resorts in winter.  She was an energetic mother, manufacturing time for creative endeavors to add a little sparkle to the lives of her children and friends – special cakes for every occasion, frequent parties, and constant laughter.  In time, she was blessed with grandchildren Tiffani Bordonaro, Richard Prader, and Christopher Prader, all of Massachusetts, and Kaiden Miles and Max Miles of Florida, and great-grandchildren Francesca, Brianna, and Alana Bordonaro and Christopher and Aria Prader.

She married her beloved second husband, Atilano “Jack” Bunagan in 1997 and with him she pursued her lifelong love of cruising, visiting ports in the Caribbean, Mexico, Europe and finally to Asia in the Fall of 2019, fulfilling a longstanding wish to visit Jack’s homeland and meet his family in the Philippines.

Carol left this earth on February 21, 2020, at home after several weeks in the hospital.   Family and friends are welcome to join a service at Davis Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 25 at 5:30 pm and there will be another celebration of Carol’s life in Boston (Winthrop) on May 9.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to the American Heart Association in her memory.
