Carol Ann Nelson

Carol Ann Nelson, age 73 of Las Vegas NV passed away on November 27th in Spring Valley Hospital in Las Vegas.
Carol was born on Eglin AFB, FL. to James Edward Daws of Lexington TN. and Niena Pauline McHenry of Monroe LA. on January 2, 1945. She was a military brat and travelled around the world with her parents until she graduated Bellevue High School near Offutt AFB where she met and married John Nelson, an Airman from Racine Wisconsin stationed at Offutt. She remained married to John Nelson until her passing 55 years later. Carol came from a military family and stayed in a military family her whole life. John and Carol retired from the Air Force in 1981 after moving around the United States at several Air Force installations. They settled in Las Vegas in 1979 and have lived in Las Vegas for close to 40 years. Carol worked as an office manager and book keeper for several interior design firms during her working career. Carol is a life long sewer and quilter, she always had something in her hands. Cruising was Carol's other passion, she and John have sailed the world enjoying many wonderful places. Carol had four brothers: John, Steve, Tom, and Michael and two sons John Jr. living in Las Vegas & Douglas James living in Fort Collins, Colorado.
Carol is survived by her husband John, her two sons, John Jr. and Douglas, her four grand children, and her 5 great grand children.
Visitation for Carol will begin at 09:00 AM on Saturday the 8th of December, with services following at 10:00 AM with the burial following right after. Location is Davis Funeral Home at 6200 S Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89119 Phone 702-736-6200.
Carol's Pallbearers will be John Nelson Jr., her Son, Douglas Nelson, her son, Ryan Nelson, her grandson, Corey Lewis, the husband of one of her granddaughters, Brad Berghuis, a long time family friend and a third son to Carol, and Chuck Cochren, a long time personal friend from Las Vegas.
