Carolyn Weir Crocker

Carolyn Briery Weir Crocker died in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Friday, August 16, 2019, just three days shy of her 81st birthday.  She died from complications of a heart attack.  Her grave marker is located in Memory Park Cemetery, Longview, Texas.

 

She was born on August 19, 1938 in Texas, one of 12 children to George Gardner Briery and Effie Mae Graves.  She lived in Longview, Texas most of her life.  She married Richard Wayne Weir on January 9, 1965, who preceded her in death on October 19, 2001.  She married James Byrd Crocker on April 17, 2003, who preceded her in death on October 28, 2010.

 

Survivors include her two brothers, Gene and Milton Briery, and two sisters, Bonnie Williams and Helen Dixon.  Surviving from her marriage to Wayne are daughter Rebecca (Richard; child Tana).

Survivors from her marriage to Jim Crocker include daughter Cameron (Jon; children Kyler, Kailyn, Kassidy, and Kinsley) and sons Clay (Laura; children Bryce, Matthew, and Molly), Kurt (children Derek and Nick), Cory (child Reed), Web (Nikki; children Samantha, Drew, Brittani, Caleb, and Emma), Cody (Beth; children Diana, Jacob, Bryanna, Chris, Luci, and Chet), and Robert (Amanda; children Chas and Brantley).  Ten great-grandchildren also survive her.

As a child, Carolyn grew up on a farm.  In her younger adult years she performed sword dancing.  She enjoyed bird watching.  She was a Christian and attended church regularly, loving her Lord Jesus Christ.

 

The family will hold a private Celebration of Life service.  While Carolyn wanted no fuss or flowers, if you feel so led, Memorial contributions can be submitted to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
