Catherine Schnell

Catherine Teresa Schnell (nee Bingham), formerly of Chicago, passed away in her home on May 16, 2023.  Devoted wife to the late Lavern, retired Chicago Fire Department.  Dedicated mother to Wayne (Colleen), Douglas, Michael (Alicia), Nancie Miller (Robert), David (Regina), and Glenn (Brian Heath).  Loving grandmother to seventeen and great-grandmother to fourteen.  Catherine is preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Lorene (nee Regan) Bingham.  Dear sister to fifteen brothers and sisters.  She was an active member in the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary.  After retiring from thirty years in the freight industry with Tucker Freight Lines and Consolidated Freightways, she spent her retirement years traveling the country and sharing memories with her family.

Interment will be at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.  Services will be private.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Center or SafeNest Las Vegas.
