Cecelia Louise Stenzel passed away on Saturday, December 7th in Hospice of complications due to lung cancer.
Cece was born in Detroit Michigan to Ludwig and Edwina Bagienski on November 22, 1941. She moved to Southern California in 1969, then in 1982 moved to the Pismo Beach area, residing there until 2012 when she moved to Las Vegas, spending her summers in the Seattle area. Her sister Beverly Bagienski Frasier died in 2017 and she is survived by her brother, Leon Bagienski of Detroit Michigan.
Cece worked in the restaurant industry for most of her life. She was a Manager of Denny’s in Pismo Beach California for many years and owned her own restaurant and deli called Sorrensen’s in Arroyo Grande California. She was an avid bowler with both The Golden West and Top of the Hill Bowling leagues, both teams named “Yesterday’s Children”. She also was an active member of two Red Had Society groups: The Sweet-n-Sassy Lassies and Toad-a-Leas. She loved birds, especially canaries, and always had at least two. She loved to read, and garden and go to see movies. She was an avid traveler throughout America and Europe. She especially loved taking cruises.
Cece was an independent, strong, feisty, caring woman who will be missed dearly by her children, Brad Hoyt, Brian Hoyt, Shellie Hoyt Brighton, and Eric Hoyt, her husband Bob Hines, her daughter’s in-law Lori Hoyt and Gail Hoyt, her son-in-law Randy Rumley, her stepdaughter Becky Hines, and former step-children Laura Stenzel, Nick Stenzel, and Rob Stenzel as well as her grandchildren: Brandy Hoyt, Kellie Hoyt, TJ Hoyt, Nathan Brighton, Elliott Brighton, Zachariah Hoyt, and Mavis Hoyt.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, January 3rd at 5 pm at Davis Funeral Home, 6200 South Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89119. Donations can be made in memoriam to The American Cancer Society.
