Charles G Davidson

August 23, 1942 — December 5, 2020

Charles Davidson was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 23rd, 1942 to Caroline and James Davidson. He was the oldest of 4 children which included brothers Tom and Jim, and a sister Claudia. After he completed his studies at St. Ignatius High School and graduated, he went into the Army where he met his wife Julia at Fort McClellan, Alabama. After his service in the Army, he married and settled into his role as husband and father in Panorama City, California where he started his own cleaning business with commercial clients as well as some celebrity homes. It didn't take him long to realize that Las Vegas was booming and he wanted to take his family there and start a career in the casino Industry. That was in 1969. He started out as a dealer and worked in many casinos making a name for himself in the industry. He ended up working at many major hotels and casinos on the strip including MGM Grand, Golden Nugget, Circus Circus, The Mirage, Tropicana and the Bellagio just to name a few. He even worked closely with Steve Wynn. He had always loved sports from a very young age and this gave him the opportunity to support his son’s passion with baseball and football. Charles even supported the little league by purchasing a batting machine and other major equipment the league needed. As his family grew Charles became interested in real-estate and other projects he did with several of his business partners. He loved to attend sporting events and did so often by traveling to Chicago and Los Angeles to see the Lakers, or the Dodgers and also followed Cincinnati Reds baseball during the 70's as he loved Pete Rose, Johnny Bench & Ken Griffey.

Charles enjoyed time with family and attended sporting events at Del Sol High school where his granddaughter Stevie participated in Cheerleading, softball and track, and supported his grandson Joshua with his BMX biking interest, attended many little league baseball games with Casey and loved to watch Amber excel in her volleyball matches & tournaments. He loved the active life and was always going out on the town with friends to restaurants and loved going to the sports books. Charles also invested in several small business ventures starting a water purification company with his son Charles and founded Silver Cactus real-estate with his daughter Jennifer. After his retirement he continued to stay active and enjoyed his family and friends. He once completed a six mile hike to the Colorado River on a dare with his daughter Lisa and a local hiking group.

Charles was preceded in his transition to Our Eternal home by his mother Caroline Davidson, and father James Davidson. He is survived by his brothers Tom Davidson, Jim Davidson, sister Claudia Slonski (all in Chicago), daughters Jennifer Cerny & Lisa Davidson and loving son Charles Davidson. He also leaves behind grandchildren Stevie Marie Davison, Joshua Chapman, Sabrina Davidson, Amber Cerny and Casey Cerny, as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives close to his heart. May his soul rest in peace.
