Charles Hiram Learned, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend passed away on January 25, 2024. Born on July 14, 1944 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Charles was born to late, William and Geneva Learned. When he was a young man, he had a lot of drive. His first job was at Disneyland in Anaheim, California but that didn't last long due to him giving out free ice cream to all the pretty girls. After some time at the age of 19, Charles married Barbara and had four children together and later parted ways but remained very good friends.
In 1971, Charles landed a job at Newhall Refinery / Pauley Petroleum as a sales representative for all products. He adored his job and made many good friends and where he met Linda. While working together they went out on a few dates, but nothing came to be. Until a friend and boss of Linda named John, gave Charles the idea to have Linda as a date to the Christmas ball. After the ball love flourished. In 1989 the doors to Newhall Refinery had closed. Charles and Linda relocated to Nevada in 1993. Where they got married ten years prior. He then started work at the Venetian Hotel in 1993, which was the Sands Hotel at the time that later came down then tuned into the Venetian. He worked in the engineer department until retirement in 2011.
Charles was a jack of all trades. He was also very handy, he built a fireplace mantal for Linda and gave the kids their first toolbox. Anything he could build for his family he was on it. His fetish were cars and shoes, every year or so he would pop up back home with a new car ready to go cruising.
Charles favorite things to do involved watching Nasar, football, boating, camping, taking a Sunday drive, he was an animal lover as well but later on in life he really enjoyed taking ship cruises, once on one he was hooked.
Charles and Linda were very spontaneous, any chance they had to go out and travel to visit family they took. Once they did a surprise visit to Linda's mother, they pack up within three hours and made the trip happen, they were all overjoyed.
