Curtis Ledell Ramsey

February 4, 1937 — December 25, 2020

Curtis Ledell Ramsey (Boozer) was born on February 4, 1937 in McMinnville, Tennessee to the late Bessie Louise (Blue) and James Monroe Ramsey. He was the second oldest of five siblings.

Curtis was a lifetime member of the Oakley Blvd. Church of Christ, following in the footsteps of both his mother and father and grandparents. He placed his membership wherever he lived Monterey, California and Las Vegas, Nevada. If he was out of town on a Sunday, he would always locate a Church of Christ to worship at. Curtis was a devoted and dedicated member at the North Las Vegas Church of Christ when the Lord called him home on December 25th, 2020. How fitting on the day we celebrate the birth of Christ.

Curtis was married to the love of his life, Louise Marie Harrison for 63 years. To this union, they had two sons, Kevin who preceded him in death and Anthony.

During his life, Curtis worked at numerous companies. He worked at an Office Supply Store, Cleveland Motors Ford Dealership and was a Manager at the 1st Black Bowling Alley located in Crowley, Louisiana. While living in California, he worked at one of the premier car wash companies and at the Monterey Unified School District as a custodian on the evening shift. Shortly thereafter he became Supervisor of Custodial Services where he retired in 1995. Unable to be still in retirement, Curtis went back to work at Carmel Community Hospital as the Supervisor of Custodial Services where he remained until 2003 when he and the family relocated to Nevada. Once settled in Las Vegas, Curtis worked at the Clark County School District Main Kitchen providing support and assistance to staff wherever needed. He believed that idle hands were the work of the devil.

On December 25, 2020 the book of life closed. Curtis Ledell Ramsey leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory, his beloved and devoted wife of 63 years, Louise; his son Anthony; his sister Rochelle Ramsey and his brother Michael (Linda), both of McMinnville, TN; two granddaughters: Shawndra (Jacob) Patterson and Aislyn Halloway; four great granddaughters, 5 nieces, 5 nephews and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
