Retired Curtis Vercel Reinan, 73, a decorated officer in the U.S. Air Force, passed away unexpectedly July 2, 2013. Born in Fargo, N.D., Nov. 11, 1939, he spent most of his youth in North Dakota and Fergus Falls, Minn. He graduated from Fergus Falls High School, and received a bachelor of arts degree in business from Moorehead State College, and later a master of arts in public administration from Ball State University. He entered the U.S. Air Force in 1962. He had several overseas assignments and was an F4 pilot during the Vietnam War. Military assignment brought him to Nellis Air Force Base in 1975, and he retired in 1982. Curt was subsequently employed by Nevada Energy, and retired in 2009. He enjoyed sports, especially basketball, and refereed basketball and softball for Southern Nevada Officials Association for many years. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Chris Zavestoski granddaughter, Jadan sister, Gaynell Chuck McGinley brother, John Leslie and four nephews, Michael, Brian, John William and Matthew. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, at Community Lutheran Church, 3720 E. Tropicana Ave. Burial will be private in Hunter, N.D.
