Darnell "D.J" Jones was born in Chicago Illinois on February 11, 1953, to Donna Mae Fisk and Willie Jones. He went to ben with the Lord on August 20, 2021, after battling COVID for a month at Sunrise Hospital. His wife Karen was at his side. Darnell was raised by his grandmother Frances Morelock.
D.J. moved to Las Vegas in 1984 and became a poker dealer, he started at the Marina later moving to the Mirage then transferring to Treasure Island where he met his wife Karen. They moved to Arizona in October of 1997. D.J.'s passion was poker. He loved to play and he played well. Omaha was his game and the last few years he played at the Orleans, where he was known as Ghost.
D.J. loved his dogs, over the years he and his wife rescued many. At present they have 7. He also loved large birds. D.J. had 2 MacCaws.
He has a wonderful sense of humor. He lived life to the fullest, bringing laughter and that great big smile wherever he went. Darnell was the youngest of four children, both his brothers. Both of his brothers Maurice Jones and Willie O. Jones have gone before him. He is survived by his sister Frances Gant of Chicago Illinois, his wife Karen Ann Jones, his children Brian Jude and Grandson B.J. of Antioch Tennesee, Frances Joice Jones of Evansville Indiana, and Darnell Ray Jones pf Phoenix Arizona. Along with many nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be held on September 10, 2021 between 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM as Davis Funeral Home In Las Vegas, NV. A celebration of his life will be at a later date in Phoenix Arizona.
