Demetre T. Papageorge

Demetre Papageorge, of Henderson, was born in Pireaus, Greece, and passed away June 17, 2012.
He moved to Brazil when he was 18 to study engineering while in school he worked as a machinist. After finishing his degree in engineering, he moved to New York.
Demetre was able to converse fluently in four languages, Greek, Portuguese, Spanish and English.
He met and married his wife, Alexandra, and soon after they moved to California. Over the next 30 years, he worked as a mechanical engineer in the aerospace industry.
During his career, he worked on a variety of projects including the space shuttle, Boeing commercial aircraft, and military aircraft development.
After retirement, he moved to Las Vegas to be close to his family.
He is survived by his wife, of 42 years, Alexandra his daughter, Evangelia and his grandson, Connor.
