Deron B. Dattge

In loving memory of Deron Bingham Dattge, 81, of Las Vegas, who passed away Monday, May 23, 2011.

Deron was born September 24, 1929, in Nephi, Utah, the son of Rilda Dattge and Albert George Dattge.
The family lived in New York City, San Francisco, and finally settled in the Las Vegas Valley in 1944, where Derons father, Albert continued his IRS career making him one of the first IRS agents in the Las Vegas Valley. Then Albert became the comptroller and accountant for many of the main Las Vegas casino owners. Derons first accounting job was in one of his father accounting offices above the old Las Vegas Club.
During World War II, Deron Bingham Dattge joined the U.S. Navy. He served until the end of the war receiving an honorable discharge. After returning to the Las Vegas Valley, Deron met his lovely wife, Dorothy Lincoln and fell in love. They have remained together for 62 years of marriage and raised one daughter, Linda Grace Dattge Linda Helda. Dorothy taught school while Deron started out as an accountant and then switched to sheet metal. He loved to work outside and use his hands creating things that were useful and the trades profession allowed Deron that opportunity. Deron Dattge was a member in the Sheet Metal Union and became a trustee later in his career. He received several awards and career pins one was his 50 years of service award. Deron is survived by his wonderful. Wife, Dorothy Lincoln Dattage daughter, Linda Dattage Helda grandchildren, Anthony LaMont Gallenbeck and his wife, Tricia Gallenbeck, Christopher William Helda and his wife, Deanna Helda, Brandie Anjanette Helda and Marissa Helda Whited and her husband, Brian Whited greatgrandchildren, Elyssa Gallenbeck, Ashley Gallenbeck, Jordon Gallenbeck, Sarah Helda, Amy Helda and Kaylee Ann Whited and sisters, Verla Purdy and her husband, Ralph Purdy, Carolyn Brown and her husband Jean Brown, Lois Englehart and her husband, Gerald Englehart. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 26, at the LDS Church, 10230 S. Bermuda Road corner of Pile and Bermuda.
