Dion Dean Darling also is known as Rico, 47, of Las Vegas, passed away on 2/4/2020 in Las Vegas. Rico was born in Maroon Town, Jamaica. He was born to Lena Karr and Arron Darling on 7/23/1972 and raised by Agatha Waugh-Campbell. He graduated from Maldon High in 1991. Then he went on to Montego Community College, where he became an electrician.
Dion worked at Fargo Electronic Jamaica Ltd, as well as Bells Barbershop in Hopewell in Hanova, Jamaica.
Rico dreamed of coming to America as a child, he would watch the planes in the sky and say one day he would be on those very same planes. He also always wanted to start a family in America. His dream came true in June of 1997 when he arrived in Las Vegas, NV. Rico was no stranger to hard work, in fact, he was the definition of hard work. He had many successful businesses. Rico was a skilled barber, he was the owner of Darling Enterprises, he held a patent for the Genie Pot, he owned Faks and Fiktions a T-Shirt and apparel line, he created a youtube channel entitled “Inspiring Habits” and his most recent business venture a food truck entitled Jerk and Que. Rico had big dreams to leave a legacy for his children and although his dreams were cut short, he was able to leave his children with the blueprints to ensure his legacy will reach its maximum potential.
To know Rico, is to love him, he had an infectious laugh and made a lasting impression with everyone he encountered. He had a way of inspiring you to be a better person without even trying it. It was in his nature to want better for everyone. His children would often joke about he knew everything, how he was impeccable. After all, we only wish that he knew his last day on earth so we could all say goodbye. However, his great memories will forever live with us all.
Rico is survived by the loving mothers of his children Michelle Smith and Simone Hunter, his children Diondra Darling, Damion Darling, Daniella Darling, and Dion-Jada Darling, his 7 brothers, 6 sisters, his mother Lena Kerr, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
