Donald Eugene Day Jr. - son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle
Donnie Eugene was born November 7, 1951, and went home to be with the Lord on August 23, 2022, after a long illness. Don was the oldest son of eight, was raised in Southern California, and loved the ocean. Shortly after high school, Don was drafted into the U.S. Army and completed Basic Training at Fort Ord, California. Don served his country during the Vietnam War with the 44th Engineering Construction Division, Company C and D at the DMZ in South Korea. After returning home from service, Don married and had two sons, Terry Michael and Christopher Allan Day. Don was preceded in death by his father, Don Day Sr., his mother Joan, brother Kevin Michael Day, Debbie Joan Day (Spies), and Robert Scott Day, as well as his wife Chris Day. He is survived by his two sons, their children, and siblings Carol McKeown, Cathy Bonke, Mark Day, sister Janice, and multiple nieces and nephews that dearly loved him. Having had his faith sorely tested during the war and for years after, Don questioned his faith in God. Thankfully, he passed from this world a believer in salvation through grace and that all who come to know Jesus are saved by that same grace. Full burial with military honors is pending. In lieu of flowers, Don has requested that donations be made to a military support organization of your choosing.
