Funeral services for Donald E. Keen, Jr., will be held at the Davis Funeral Home and Memorial Park, on July 3rd, 2010 located at 6200 S. Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89145. Viewing will be from 11:00 am 2:00 pm funeral service from 2:00 3:00 pm, and graveside burial at 3:00 pm.
Don Tlingit Indian of the RavenCoho of the Luknaxadi clan whose Indian name was Shydoowoo was born in Juneau, Alaska to Mary Brown Keen and Major Donald Keen Sr.
As a military dependent, Don lived all over the world but ended up in Las Vegas while pursuing a career as a professional boxer. Those pursuits quickly changed once Don met his soul mate, Joyce. Don had a long and successful career at the Teamsters Union as a welder, a skill he learned on the TransAlaska Pipeline.
Mr. Donald E. Keen Jr. is survived by wife Sheila, lovingly known as Joyce, children Vincent Luis Heather, Angela Yvonne Julio, and Darin Dominic, and grandchildren Hailee Keen and Daniel Hernandez. Don is also survived by stepfather Flore Sr. and mother Mary Brown Lekanof sisters Karen Taug Ole, Katherine Carter Steve, Nancy Keen, Janice Hotch Edward Susan Keen, Pavla Lekanof brothers Flore II, Nicholas Lekanof and many numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Donald E. Keen, Sr. and fatherinlaw Luis Vialpando of Las Vegas.
A Celebration of Life will be held immediately following the burial at the Keen family residence located at 8656 Blissville Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89145, telephone 7022333626. Cards, flowers donations can be sent to Sheila Joyce Keen at the same address.
