Dorothy Bernier

Dorothy Bernier, 89 of Las Vegas, NV passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2015. Born on October 13, 1925, Dorothy moved to Las Vegas from Langhorn, PA over 20 yrs. ago. She began her nursing career at Abbington Hospital in Philadephia, PA, and later became the Supervisor for Woods School for Handicapped Children in Langhorn, where she worked for over 20 yrs. She was of Catholic Faith. Dorothy had a kind and generous heart, and was a caregiver to people and animals alike. She loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her husband of 29 yrs. Robert Bernier of Las Vegas, NV; daughters, Kathy (Jan) Gwynn of Las Vegas, NV, Marianne (Michael) TyrrellViola of Mercerville, PA, Sandy Bound of Trevost, PA; sons, Peter (Debbie) Steubing of Bensalem, PA, and Gary Gwynn of Atlanta, GA; daughter-in-law, Cindy Cates of Atlanta, GA; sister, Betty Dawber of Garden Grove, CA; sister-in-law, Norma Gwynn of Wildwood, NJ; 7 grandchildren, Kyle, Curt, Josh, Jared, Jennifer, Jessica and Ali; and 6 great-grandchildren, Kayla, Jocelyn, Rowan, Grace, Jonah and Shawn. She is preceded in death by her son, Kevin Gwynn.

A Graveside service will be held on Friday, June 5th at 9:20 AM at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Humane Society in Dorothy's honor. Arrangements entrusted to Davis Funeral Home.
