Doug Mekkers

Douglas John Mekkers of Las Vegas, Nevada passed at the age of 78 on April 25, 2023.  Doug was raised in Keizer, Oregon and raised his family in the Lake Washington region.  He spent the last quarter century of his life in Las Vegas.

Doug was a bright, unassuming, and gregarious fellow who enjoyed entertaining his friends and family and engaging others in personable conversation.  He was employed in the forest products industry and later as a self-employed bookkeeper.  He served the communities he worked and lived in throughout his life.

Doug is survived by his daughter Darice Mekkers of Oro Valley, AZ; his sons Dennis Mekkers of Daphne, AL and Darin Mekkers of Woodbridge, CA; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and his companion Maria Regina 'Gigi' Tapang.  He is missed.
