Douglas D. Hanna of Las Vegas flew west to be with his family and higher power on September 6, 2015 after a brief but courageous fight with a brain tumor and stage 4 cancer.
Doug was born on April 14, 1941, to parents, Marjorie E. and Leslie D. Hanna in Lincoln, NE.
His lifetime companion, cousin, and forever friend, Mark, was by his side all the way.
He was predeceased by his parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and numerous other relatives and friends.
Doug will be missed by Mark and his adopted family, as well as his many close friends and acquaintances. His quick wit, charm, and never going to grow up attitude will be sorely missed by all.
Doug's career in life was ground service for the airlines. He started with Eastern Airlines in Chicago in 1960. He left Eastern for his long career with the ""original"" Frontier Airlines in 1961in Lincoln, NE and transferred to Phoenix, AZ in 1967. He stayed with Frontier until their demise in 1986. He then worked for Salt River Project, an electric utility company in Tempe, AZ. In 1995, he was part of the team to open Phoenix for the ""New"" Frontier Airlines. He retired in 1997.
Doug loved to travel and completed an around the world journey with his close friend, Mike. After retirement, he lived in Colorado, Hawaii, and Nevada.
He served honorably in the U.S. Army for two years. He spent one year in Seoul, South Korea. He was proud of his service and had a lot of stories. His friend, Mike, was in Seoul at the same time, making the stories quite interesting.
