Edward F. Sherer passed away on August 13th, 2019 in Las Vegas. Ed was born in Providence, RI to Rodney and Nan Sherer on February 26, 1943.
Ed was an avid sports enthusiast and runner, U.S. Marine Corps Captain, Vietnam Veteran, American Patriot, and prominent Patent Attorney at Exxon. He was a beloved brother, uncle, and father; a man of few words or material possessions. He always paid attention, challenged your thinking, was a bit quirky, an animal lover, trusting, generous, not afraid to be alone, and had equal parts of messy and intellect.
Ed is preceded in death by Rodney and Nan Sherer and his son Edward "Ned" Sherer III.
He is survived by his sister, Alice S. Vermette, Robert E. Vermette (brother-in-law), several nieces and nephews and their families, and his beloved canine companion Ginger. He will have a burial with military honors at the convenience of the family.
The family of Ed wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the care teams at Summerlin Hospital and UMCs Trauma ICU who cared for him, in addition to all the individuals and friends who touched his life and shared a smile.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation (receipts available upon request) to “Lisa Parker's Puppies” an owner-run non-profit canine rescue and rehoming organization at (970) 769-2584.
