Edward Julius Tullman Sr., 96, of Henderson, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2013, after a brief illness at St. Rose Sienna Hospital. Edward was born October 25, 1916, to Reinhold and Jennie Tullman, in Irvington, New Jersey, where he was raised. He graduated from Newark College of Engineering now NJIT in 1939. During the war years, he worked for KrauterWeber, Higgins, Bell and Vultee Aircraft Companies, specializing in propeller and gearing design. Following that, he worked at EJ Sieber Design in New York during most of the 1950s. During the 1960s and 1970s, Edward worked for the Singer Sewing Machine Company in Elizabeth, New Jersey as a mechanical engineer and his design skills produced several notable patents that advanced stitching engineering technology still used in todays households. Edward was the loving husband of Dorothy for 59 years, prior to her passing in August 2009. They lived in Union, New Jersey for 50 years before moving to Henderson in 2001. He is survived by his sons, Edward Jr. Maureen, of Henderson, Robert of San Antonio daughter, Mary Jane Nones Bruce of Milford, New Jersey seven grandchildren two greatgrandchildren and other relatives and friends.
