Eileen San Nicolas Mendiola

Our beloved Mother, Sister, Aunt and Great Aunt, Godmother and Cousin; Eileen Mendiola, 58,was called to her eternal resting place on October 26, 2020. She entered this world on March 3, 1962 in Long Beach, CA, born to Tomas and Rosa Mendiola. She is survived by her son Daniel Tanishita and beloved fur baby Nikko; sisters Rosaline Tanishita (Byron) and Ev Laforett (Anthony); niece Valerie Williams, nephew Stephan Laforett (Maridsa); and other great nephew and great nieces. She was predeceased by her parents Tomas and Rosa Mendiola, and nephew Tomas Tanishita.

Eileen was born the spoiled baby of 3 girls, who loved her ham sandwiches for school lunches during her elementary and middle school years. She was a proud Jack Rabbit from Poly High School. Eileen then further pursued an education and career in the travel and tourism industry. Although Eileen's residence was in Las Vegas, she would always say that she loved the California lifestyle and Mammoth Lakes.

Eileen was known to give the best hugs throughout the world, and for cooking all types of food for everyone. She was the easiest person to talk to and didn't know the meaning of "stranger danger". Eileen would continuously give a helping hand to anyone she could and could stretch a penny a mile long. Eileen will forever be titled the "Thrift Store Queen".

As we come together as family, remember Eileen with hugs, laughter, and of course good food while sharing lasting memories.
