Elia Barberini

Beloved Mother, Sister, Grandma, Aunt and Friend passed away at the age of 80 at 10:27 p.m., Friday, August 13, 2010. She was born Oct. 28, 1929, in Philadelphia.

She is survived by her children, Laura and Bonnie Barberini, Vera Costantini and Thomas G. Barberini her devoted sister, Agnes Juback and her husband Ray Juback her sisterinlaw, Rita Gentile her much adored grandchildren, Sarah and Daniel Costantini and Nicholas Barberini her special daughter Cathy Colombo her godson and nephew Raymond Juback nephews, John Juback and Hans Gentile Jr. nieces, Jacqueline Juback, Joanne Larson, Mary Gurgigno and Elia Ellen Fickeria her lifetime friends, Helen Defrancesco, Florida Tarcinale and Viola DeMarco.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Laura Rubeo Gentile her father, Joseph Gentile her brother, Hans Gentile her sister, Enesse Giovagnorio and her husband, Nicholas Barberini.

Elia was truly blessed and while she worked hard her entire life and fought and mostly won cancer for 17 years she had the gifts of laughter, of courage that never gave up of giving completely of herself and her time without ever hesitating. She made this world a better place and touched thousands of hearts.

Her faith in God, Jesus Christ was complete and strong. She loved her church family at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Elia, we will all miss your homemades gravy, meatballs and baked ziti.
