Eva Corral was born in Presidios, Durango (Mexico) to Romula Garcia and Rafael Monarrez. She lived her early life in Mexico and later lived in the bay area in California, prior to relocating to Las Vegas in 1992. She worked at Bally's Las Vegas Hotel & Casino for 17 years, until her retirement in 2009. She passed away in Las Vegas, NV.
Eva was a dedicated mother and wife. In her youth, she was an excellent student in school and had a deep love of learning all her life; a love that she passed on to her 6 children. Spending her early life on a rural ranch, she had an envious repertoire of handy skills such as canning, cheese- and candle-making, along with a deep knowledge of farming skills. She was a deeply intuitive and caring person, who formed strong bonds with the people that she let into her inner circle. She was a devout Catholic all her life. Above all, she cared deeply for her family, instilling in them a strong work ethic as well as the values of faith, love, and service to others. In her leisure time, she loved to sew and tend to her garden. Gifted with endless creativity, she also loved repurposing found items to make them useful again.
She was preceded in death by her eldest son, Javier Corral, as well as her parents and her brothers Manuel Monarrez and Adan Monarrez. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Juan Manuel Corral, and her children (Celia Martell, Joel Corral, Irma Corral, Juan Corral, and Armando Corral) and grandchildren (Alicia Martell-Najar and Miriam Martell-Romero) and their respective spouses. She also is survived by her siblings; Martin Monarrez, Antonio Monarrez, and Luz Maria Monarrez. The extended Monarrez and Corral families will also deeply miss her.
