Eva Wang, M.D.

Eva King Wang, M.D. of Henderson, NV passed away suddenly on June 18, 2022.  She was at home with her beloved son Anthony when God called her to Heaven.

Eva King Wang, M.D. was born August 21, 1939 in Manila, Philippines to Antonio C. King and Florentina C. Tiognco.  Lovingly called “Beng” by her family, she was a proud graduate of Holy Ghost College and Far Eastern University Medical School in Manila.   She was so devoted to her family.  Even while in Medical School, after classes, she would help in her mother’s dressmaker shop until closing, keeping her mother company on the ride home and then studying afterward.

Dr. Wang dutifully followed with some sadness her family’s wishes for her to go to the United States and blaze her own path.  Arriving in 1969 with only a suitcase as large as she was and discovering an indomitable will, she began what would be a distinguished fifty years-long medical career. She would do her residency at the University at Buffalo Medical School, getting her fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.  She would aid countless children and families throughout New York and New Jersey.  Despite heading with her son to Nevada to initially retire, she continued to serve the Las Vegas community until her ultimate retirement in 2019.

Until her own mother’s passing in 2006, Dr. Wang religiously went back to the Philippines every two to three years to visit her family.  She loved to travel, sharing with her son from a young age her joy of discovery and sense of wonder.

Dr. Wang was preceded by and is now reunited with her parents Antonio C. King and Florentina C. Tiongco, her siblings Francis C. Tiongco and Norma K. Llames, and countless relatives.

Dr. Wang is survived by her son, Anthony K. Wang, her brother and Sister-in-Law Anthony C. King, Jr. and Constance J. King, her sister Rebecca King Cruz, her nephew and niece Mario King Cruz, and Jo-Anne King Javier Cruz, and numerous relatives.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church.  Arrangements are by Davis Memorial.
