Gary Wilburn Hanna Jr.

Gary W. Hanna born in Florence, South Carolina, May 27, 1929, to Emmie Tharin Hanna and Gary Hanna Sr., passed away March 12, 2011.

He attended the University of North Carolina and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He arrived in Las Vegas, in 1950, when he entered the automobile industry as a salesman. He subsequently had multiple franchises including Las Vegas Dodge, Gary Hanna Nissan and The Las Vegas Chrysler dealerships.

During his long years in the automobile industry, he was honored by being named Man of the Year by Time Magazine being a member and past president of the Nevada New Car Dealer Association, and being on Nissans Dealer Council.

He was a charitable friend to all who knew him, donating to UNLV and several charities. He was known as an avid sportsman and loved his many hours of fishing all over the continent.

He was preceded in death by his mother his father and sons, Jon and Chris.

He is survived by his loving wife, of 45 years, Carolyn Myers Hanna and son, Kevin. Mr. Hanna also leaves his sisters, Allison and Elizabeth.

Per his request, there is to be no service and in lieu of flowers donation to Nathan Adelson Hospice.
