George Hamilton

Walter Alfred George Hamilton lived an extraordinarily full life. Born on April 8th, 1930 into the military family of Gertrude Heineman and George "Duke" Hamilton in La Jolla, California, he went on to graduate Occidental College in 1952 with a bachelor's degree in biology, before becoming both a Navy and Air Force fighter pilot during the Korean War. Upon returning from his service as a 2nd Lieutenant in 1956, he met Janet Vallely in Mammoth, California on a ski trip and the two were wed in Santa Barbara in May 1959. First arrived Lynn Ayres Hamilton, February 9th, 1961, and then Peter DuRell Hamilton, July 20th, 1968. Janet Vallely Hamilton passed away before George, in 1992. While George spent the majority of his life in California, his latter years were spent in Arkansas and Nevada. George was a wonderfully caring husband and father, a builder, a lifelong sailor and pilot, and will be long remembered by his many friends as well as his two children and four grandchildren - Michael and Cameron Arato and Justin and Tyler Hamilton.
