George John Ligman, 78, of Little Falls, passed away on 7 March 2019 in Las Vegas, NV. George was born in Little Falls, Minnesota to John Roman and Clara Josephine on 25 September 1940.
He grew up with his parents and three sisters in Little Falls. On the 16th of March, 1959 he joined the United States Navy and was stationed on the U.S.S Henley DD762, he served 4 years. In 1962 he married Karen Louise Eckblad and had two daughters and one son. He became a well-respected police officer of Morrison County in 1974 where he served for 14 years. During that time he was Chief Deputy, undersheriff, and acting Sherriff for a time. He was well known and respected by all who worked with him. When something needed to be done, he was the man for the job.
George is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Karen, his sister Marlene Scepurek, and two grandchildren, Levi Wolfe and Kalie Olson.
George is survived by his four children Netty McIntyre, Janet McQueen, Randy Ligman, and Lisa Mata, his two sisters Theresa and Rita, his five grandchildren Jordin Stransky, Kacie Olson, Nathan Thommes, Kelsie Olson, and Sierra McQueen, and his three great-grandchildren.
A Military Service will be held at 9:00AM, 22 April 2019, at Davis Memorial Park to honor him.
