George Vlamis

George Vlamis, 79, of Las Vegas, passed away May 25, 2011. He was born July 25, 1931, to Nicholas and Demetra nee Ponzou of Thessalia, Greece, in Jersey City, N.J., and was a 23year resident of Nevada. He graduated from Idaho State University, where he received his pharmacy degree. George was a second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force, Korean War veteran and was a retired pharmacist from SavOn Drug. He was a devout member of the Greek Orthodox Church. George was the beloved husband of Connie Wilcken, who preceded him in death and loving brotherinlaw, uncle, cousin, Godfather and friend to many. George was preceded in death by his father, Nicholas Vlamis mother, Demetra Ponzou sister, Athena Dorthea wife Connie and stepson, Shane. George was the loving father of Nicholas and Claudia Vlamis, Christine and Kirk Skogen, Demetra Vlamis and Justin Rexroat, and Bill Vlamis loving stepfather of Chris, Lorri, Marty and Marie, Shane deceased and Julie Chapman and cherished grandfather of Alexandra and Erin Vlamis, Nicholas, Brandon, Matthew Skogen, Nicholas Orona, Tyrus Rexroat, Amy Gauger, David, Martin, Tiffany, Michael, Kira, Ian, Hunter, Emily and Katie Chapman.
