Geraldine ‘Geri’ Leigh Curtis Grant graduated from this life on Sunday, June 4, 2023 in Cedar City, Utah. Geri was born on December 3, 1927 in Salt Lake City to Charles Arnold Curtis and Myrtle Hazel Amott. Her four younger siblings, Marge Stucki, Mary Schembri, Rick, and Allen all preceded her into the next life. She married Charles Keith Grant on March 18, 1948 in her family home in Salt Lake City. In 1952, following Keith’s return from the Korean War, they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. That year they moved to Riverside, California as Keith, an electrical engineer, had gotten a job with Cal Electric. After almost twelve years, they moved again - this time to Las Vegas, Nevada, which was to be their final destination. Geri and Keith had six children: Jan, Russell, Leigh, Curtis, Gayle, and Jennifer. Keith passed away in 1997. He and Geri had been able to travel a good deal before his passing and they were always devoted to each other. Geri was always busy. In her younger years, she participated in sports, including basketball, volleyball, and skiing. As she got older, she devoted more time to service. She spent 25 years as a hospital volunteer, 15 years working in the Las Vegas temple, and was called to be a church Relief Society President twice. She was also a member of the DUP (daughters of the Utah Pioneers) and attended Institute of Religion Scripture Study classes regularly for about 40 years. Her six children provided her with 22 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. Geri was beloved by many. She was renowned for being kind and always seeing the best in people. In her own words “Loving people has been very easy for me. That is one talent that God gave me that has rewarded me many times.” She will be missed here but has returned to a joyous celebration in heaven.
