Geraldine Shizue Horiuchi

Geraldine S. Horiuchi, 79, passed away on March 9, 2020, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Geraldine was born on July 6, 1940, in Honolulu, Hawaii to Matsusuke and Kama Higa. She graduated from Kaimuki High School in 1958 and married Ray N. Horiuchi (passed on July 12, 2022) from Kealakekua, Hawaii on November 21, 1959, in Honolulu, Hawaii. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2019 with family in Las Vegas. Geraldine was loved dearly by her family, relatives, and friends. We as a family always felt her love and will continue to do so in her memory.

Gerry and her family moved from Honolulu to San Francisco where she developed a love for the city and the 49ers football team. She and Ray moved to Las Vegas in 1990 where they continued to work and eventually retired. Gerry is survived by a daughter, Renee (Ken Rubin) Horiuchi; son, Reed Horiuchi; sisters, Doris Adres and Dorothy (Kabo) Nakagawa; sisters-in-law Diane Higa, Lena Higa, Charlotte Higa and brother-in-law Eddie Yamashita. Gerry was the youngest of 13 siblings and left behind a great number of nieces and nephews and their extended families both on the Higa and Horiuchi side of the family. The Horiuchi family will be holding a Celebration of Life Memorial honoring Gerry and Ray’s life in Honolulu, Hawaii on Sunday, October 30, 2022.
