Gilbert Thomas McCormack Jr passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at the age of 78. Gilbert was born on September 19, 1936 in Beaumont, Texas to Gilbert Thomas McCormack Sr. Louise McCormack Millner. Texas was home to him until he decided to make Las Vegas, Nevada his permanent home. Gilbert was a resident of Las Vegas for 41 years and a very highly respected man, mentor, in the Las Vegas construction industry. His area of work included traffic signals, street lighting, and underground construction.

Gilbert was a very faithful man in his beliefs. He was a great man who inspired so many people. The stories he told captivated many. Gilbert had a very big heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

He was preceded in death by his parents Gilbert Thomas Sr. Louise McCormack of Beaumont, Texas. His grandson Robert McCormack of Las Vegas, Nevada his beloved dog and companion, Barney.

Gilbert is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Katherine McCormack Tevis of Las Vegas, Nevada. His brother Ray Linda McCormack of Austin, Texas, his daughter Mary Justin Shaw of Gardnerville, Nevada, his sons Anthony Tony Susan McCormack, David McCormack, John Dianna McCormack all from Las Vegas, Nevada. His surviving grandchildren are Stephanie Thomas Blake of Ankeny, Iowa, Samantha Dwight Brown, Sheena McCormack, Aspen McCormack, Madison, Grace, Logan, Noah, Emma McCormack, all from Las Vegas, Nevada. Gilbert also had the blessing of becoming a great grandfather. He is survived by his great grandchildren Bailey, Lila, Gabbie, Owen, Jase. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The visitation is scheduled for Thursday, November 20, 2014 from 37 pm at Davis Funeral Homes Memorial Park 6200 S. Eastern Avenue Las Vegas, Nevada 89119. A funeral mass is to take place on Friday, November 21, 2014 at 1:30 pm at St Bridget Roman Catholic Church 220 N 14th St, Las Vegas, NV 89101 with a burial to follow at Davis Memorial Park 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Las Vegas, NV 89119
