It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Glenda Faye Kelly, a beloved mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Glenda passed away on Tuesday afternoon at 4pm March 12th, surrounded by her loving family.
Glenda was born on July 26, 1960, to James Ray Miller Sr. and Ceola Wallace-Miller in Los Angeles California, She was the middle child of five siblings and is now resting in the arms of her father, mother, and oldest brother Clifford Vincent Brooks. Glenda had a vibrant and loving personality that could light up any room. She was known for her beautiful smile, her love of dancing, and her ability to hit high notes when singing.
Glenda graduated from Washington High School and attended bartending school, where she became a skilled mixologist. She loved to dress and look her best, always ensuring her hair and nails were done to perfection. Glenda was an extrovert who cherished time with her family, friends, and enjoyed shopping.
Glenda leaves behind her 2 adult children, Jonathan Daniel Carter Sr. and Celeste Denise Diaz, her son-in-law, Carlos Alberto Diaz Sr., grandchildren, Jonathan Daniel Carter Jr. and AuDesi Carter, as well as her Sister Glorestine Ann Jackson Sister Jo Ann Miller Brother James Ray Miller Jr, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She will be remembered for her warmth, her infectious personality, and her love of life.
A private funeral service will be held for family and close friends. In this difficult time, we take comfort in the words of Psalm 23: "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want."
Though Glenda has left us, her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
