Grady Bacon

Grady Bacon, 78, of Las Vegas, NV, passed away on June 21, 2017.

Grady was born in Savannah, GA to Grady Joyce and Vera Bacon Burnett on January 10, 1939.

Grady graduated from Evans High School in Claxton, GA and attended Savannah State College. He served 20 years in the Air Force where he was stationed in Korea, the Philippines, Thailand, Greece, Germany, and England and retired at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas, Nevada. After his retirement from the Air Force, he worked at the US Post Office for 16 years, where he also retired. He was a charismatic man with many interesting stories and he had a love for buying and selling cars.

Grady is preceded in death by his mother Vera Burnett, his father Grady Joyce, and his brothers Willie Burnett and Charles Bacon.

Grady is survived by his wife Arlene Bacon; his daughter Melissa Bacon; his stepsons Florian Bacon, Daryal Taylor, and Ted Law; his brothers Ralph Burnett and his wife Melrose Robbins Burnett and Alonzo Burnett; his sisters Joan McFadden and her husband James McFadden, Carolyn Kelley and her husband Arthur Kelly ; granddaughter Angelina Bacon; cousins Jerome Bacon, Michael Bacon, Shirley Ann Harvey, Gary Bacon, Sandra Bacon, Anthony Bacon, Rosa Hall, Brenda Brown, Shirley Surrency, Cheryl Bacon, Terry Bacon, Taneeta Bacon, Angela Bacon, Marquita Bacon, Christine Bacon and numerous loving family members and friends.

The visitation will be from 5:00pm to 9:00pm on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Davis Funeral Home in Las Vegas.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00am, on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church with Father Rolando Rivera. Burial will follow at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 10:40am. Arrangements are by Davis Funeral Home. Lunch will be at the Sunset Buffet at Sunset Hotel and Casino, 1301 W. Sunset Rd, Henderson NV 89104.

Pallbearers will be Florian Bacon, Daryal Taylor, Ted Law, Kevin Bacon, Tomas Baculao, Kelly Dudoit, Joseph McFadden, and Lewis Carswell.

The family of Grady Bacon wishes to extend their sincere thanks to those who have offered comfort and prayers in this difficult time.
