Guy Kinuo Shigemasa

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Guy Shigemasa on September 14, 2024. Also known as Uncle Kai or Shige. Guy was born on October 28, 1962, in Honolulu, Hi, to Eichi Shigemasa and Ann Matsumoto.

Survived by two sons, Chaz Neill-Shigemasa and Chace Shigemasa. Three grandchildren Braydon, Aubrey Brooke, and Zoey Brianne. Three Siblings, Greg, Kip, and Kory. Former wife Joni-Dee. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Guy worked as a renowned chef at various hotels in Waikiki. (Pacific beach, Pagoda) He also had various entrepreneurial endeavors. (Surfboard repair, Uncle Kai’s Island Kine LLC) He was an original member of “Da Hui Club,” a North Shore surf club on the island of Oahu. After retiring, he spent his time with the motorcycle club “Pohaku Palakiki” here in Las Vegas.
